Coastal Strip Inaugurated in Panama

The inauguration of the $189 million road project is set for the weekend of June 27th and 28th.

According to, the opening date of the Coastal Strip of Panama was published in the newspaper La Prensa, where the Minister of Transportation and Public Works (MOP acronym in Spanish) said that everything was prepared for this weekend.

The mega-project includes a 26 hectare park, in which, according to, there are worries related to the maintenance of it, because it will cost $1 million a year. The mayor of Panama City, Juan Carlos Navarro, has already said that his institution doesn’t have funds for maintenance.
