Cloud Services: New Service Center

Amazon Web Services announced that it will open an office in San Jose, Costa Rica, dedicated to supporting the cloud computing adoption process for organizations of all sizes, from startups to some of the oldest and most established companies.

The new office will establish a local group of account executives, solution architects, partner managers, support staff and other functions for customers to engage directly with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in their local environment and language, reported the Costa Rican Coalition of Development Initiatives (Cinde).

The official press release states that "... local AWS representatives will work to support organizations of all sizes, including public sector entities, as more Costa Rican companies make the transition to the AWS cloud."

Marcos Grilanda, AWS Regional Director, said that "... Costa Rica is a key market for AWS in Central America, where companies have been innovating with AWS and are using the cloud to accelerate time to market and expand their business to reach customers locally and around the world, especially during these pandemic times."

Grilanda added that "... the decision to open an AWS office in San Jose speaks to the growing customer demand, the broad talent set here and the investment we are making to support cloud adoption in the country. We are excited to work with more Costa Rican companies to help them drive innovation within their organizations, while maintaining industry high standards for reliability, privacy and security."
