Imports by country 
In the first nine months of 2017, the main importer of clothing and accessories in Central America was Panama with $325 million, followed by El Salvador, with $191 million, Costa Rica, with $181 million, Guatemala with $146 million, Honduras with $97 million and Nicaragua, with $37 million.

Variation of regional imports 
For the periods between January and September 2016 and 2017, the import value of clothing in Central America increased by 14%, going from $856 million in 2016 to $977 million in 2017. 

The growth recorded in the first nine months of 2017 reflects a recovery in imports, given that in the same period in 2016 a 12% decrease was reported compared to the months between January and September 2015.

In 2011 the country imported $251 million worth of clothes, an increase of 12% compared to the previous year.

Examples of some of the data in the report:

Imports of men and childrens shirts increased by 46% between 2010 and 2011, going from $18.1 million to $26.5 million imported in 2011.
