Five Offers to Expand the Road

Constructora ECON and Disa S.A. de C.V. are two of the five companies in El Salvador that presented their proposals to extend a four-kilometer stretch of the Pan American Highway.

The Ministry of Public Works informed that Constructora ECON, Disa S.A. de C.V., Constructora MECO, Gabriel Couto S.A. and Constructora Hidalgo e Hidalgo, submitted their proposals to widen from 2 to 4 lanes of the Pan-American Highway (CA-1) from the detour to Moncagua, kilometer 128.31, until the beginning of the Bypass in El Obrajuelo, in a 3.46 kilometers length.

Authorities informed that first they will review the technical offer, and the companies approving this evaluation, will be reviewed the financial offer, the rest will be returned. It is expected that the results of the tender will be held in April to begin construction next May.

San Salvador, February 11, 2019. The Ministry of Public Works today received tenders from 5 companies from a total of 6 qualified, for the construction of Package I, the Bypass of the City of San Miguel, whose project has been widely awaited by the country, especially by the inhabitants of San Miguel, direct beneficiaries of the work.

Panama: $88 Million Road Works Awarded

February 2018

A contract has been awarded to Constructora MECO for the design, construction and maintenance of works for the renovation of the Transístmica highway, section Plaza Agora - San Isidro Station.

The companies that took part in the tender for the renovation of a stretch of approximately 10 kilometers were Constructora MECO, Sacyr Construcción, Constructora Urbana and Conalvias Construcciones, with offers of $88 million, $86 million, $87 million and $90 million, respectively.

An award has been made to the company Constructora DISA of a contract for the design and construction of improvements to three sections of the road connecting the towns of Nueva Trinidad and Arcatao, Chalatenango.

On August 29th, 2014 the Ministry of Works, Housing and Urban Development decided to award the contract for the project "Reconstruction of CHA07E Road, Section: Est 13 + 000-New Trinidad - Arcatao municipalities of Nueva Trinidad and Arcatao Department. Chalatenango "to the company Constructora DISA S.A. de C.V. which submitted a bid of $7,167,774, according to the public procurement website of El Salvador, Comprasal.gob.sv.

Finally, Offers to Build Salvadoran Road

November 2011

After two failed tender processes, El Salvador's Minsitry for Public Works (MOP in Spanish) has received four bids to construct the new highway.

The new highway will connect the country's capital San Salvador with Santa Tecla 9.9 kilometers (6.5 miles) away.

According to a MOP press release, of ten companies that were invited to tender, four have expressed an interest in building the second stretch of the Bulevar Diego de Holguín road, which will see the project completed.

The Ministry of Public Works will launch a new tender during the third week of March 2011.

The process was declared deserted because the companies did not comply with the minimum score required for the different phases of the process.

17 construction companies and an equal number of supervisors, including three international, acquired the terms: Equipos de Construcción (ECON) and Constructora Meco S.A, for contruction and supervisión of the project: Asocio Euroestudios-Cacisa; Rivera Harrouch, S.A de C.V; ASP Consultores-Asociación de Profesionales S.A de C.V; Planeamiento Arquitectura S.A de C.V; Roberto Salazar y Asociados-Ingenieros Consultores S.A de C.V; Cal y Mayor y Asociados S.A de C.V, and Consulta S.A. de C.V.
