Chinese Company Seeks Business in El Salvador

Representatives from the Chinese conglomerate CITIC Group visiting El Salvador met with the government in order to find out about business opportunities existing in the country.

From a statement issued by the Agency for Export and Investment Promotion of El Salvador (PROESA):

The Government of El Salvador, through a team of heads of various institutions, received today a delegation from CITIC Group, a conglomerate originating in China which has become a transnational, and which does business in 56 categories, both financial and non-financial. With the intention of showcasing the advantages of El Salvador as an investment destination the group's agenda begins with a meeting with William Granadino, president of the Promotion Agency for Export and Investment in El Salvador (PROESA); Luz Estrella Rodríguez, Deputy Minister of Economy (MINEC) and Marta Evelyn de Rivera, vice president of the Central Reserve Bank (BCR).

"From PROESA, we explain to investors the business opportunities and strategic advantages that El Salvador has, and we also offer to accompany them both on the pre path to an investment, as well as during and after this decision," said William Granadino, president of PROESA.

$18 million in Deals at El Salvador - Venezuela Business Conference

The meeting between 168 companies from both countries struck deals worth $10 million in the construction, home, industrial supplies and health and wellness sectors.

From a statement issued by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce in El Salvador:

More than $18 million was traded in the over 200 appointments held during the first conference entitled "El Salvador, Venezuela, strengthening trade ties in the region." This event was coordinated by the Government of El Salvador through PROESA and the Ministry of Economy, and the Government of Venezuela through the Venezuela Export Programme, at the Bank for Foreign Trade (Bancoex). Entrepreneurs and Venezuelan officials highlighted during these three days El Salvador's potential in the commercial area and its strategic geographic location.

III Meeting of InterAmerican Single Foreign Trade Windows

On 20 and 21 May, representatives from more than 20 countries in America will discuss in El Salvador the features of this tool and its influence on foreign trade.

El Salvador has been selected as the site to host the Third Meeting of Single Foreign Trade Windows, an event that is sponsored by the Inter-American Development Bank and will be attended by representatives from 27 countries of Latin.

Salvadoran Business Mission to Visit Colombia

February 2011

A group of businessmen is traveling with president Mauricio Funes in his upcoming official visit to Colombia.

The visit is scheduled for the 23rd and 24th of February.

It is expected for the group of businessmen to participate in the tourism fair "Tourism Showcase ANATO 2011", which will be inaugurated by the two presidents.

Dubai Entrepreneurs Interested in Panama

Executives from the Al Ahli Group, a consortium of some 20 companies, arrived in Panama to explore business opportunities.

According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Trade and Industry published in "The group will be in the country for five days and will hold meetings with various business sectors.
