Changes in imports 
Considering the January-September period, between 2015 and 2016 the total value of tractors imported from Central America did not change significantly, however, the value of imports purchased from the US grew by 30%, going from $45 million in 2015 to $59 million in 2016.

Imports by country 
In the first nine months of 2016 the main importer of tractors in Central America was Guatemala with $37 million, followed by Costa Rica with $32 million, Panama, with $15 million, Nicaragua with $15 million, Honduras with $11 million and El Salvador, with $8 million. 

Origin of imports 
During the first three quarters of 2016, 49% of the value of imports from Central America came from the US, 25% from Mexico, 8% from Brazil and 5% from Italy.

In 2016 imports of tractors into Central American countries totaled $165 million, and the value imported from Brazil grew by 24% compared to 2015.
