From a report by the Ministry of Economy of El Salvador:

The current reference prices are experiencing increases in all petroleum products (gasoline and diesel) due to the positive outlook for global fuel demand, and a decline in reserves, together with the expectations of the next meeting of the OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries) at the end of November in Vienna. Click to interact with graphicsClick to interact with graphics

The strategic inventories of gasoline in the North American country were reduced by approximately 4 million barrels in the last week due to maintenance of oil pipelines in the Houston area, which transports the fuel to the northern part of the country; while diesel and distillates fell by a smaller scale by 320,000 barrels in the last week, but heating consumption has caused prices to continue to rise.

From the Ministry of Economy of El Salvador statement:

Although reductions were reflected in the second fortnight, according to reports from the IEA, it was announced that gasoline increased 1.28 million barrels and to a lesser extent diesel increased 558 thousand barrels in the month of May. From a report by the Ministry of Economy of El Salvador:

From a report by the Ministry of Economy of El Salvador:

The current geopolitical events in the Middle East, in particular an attack on Syria led by the coalition of the United States, France and the United Kingdom, has caused great uncertainty among investors and prices in the Hydrocarbons market, due to the fact that this could lead to a substantial decrease in production, in addition to the one that the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has had in place since the end of 2016, affecting world supply and causing prices to maintain their upward trend.[GRAFICA caption = "Click to interact with graph"]
