Central America: $760 Million in Hospital Projects

During the first half of 2018, 18 environmental impact studies were presented to build hospitals, clinics and other health care centers in the countries of the region.

The interactive platform "Construction in Central America", from the Trade Intelligence Area of CentralAmericaData, includes the updated list of public and private construction projects that present the environmental impact studies (EIA) to the respective institutions of each country.

The country with the largest investment is Panama, with nearly $298 million in construction projects dedicated to medical services, corresponding to five environmental impact studies submitted between January and June 2018.

Seven EIAs were presented in Costa Rica, which together total an investment of approximately $222 million. The outstanding construction is the " Hospital Monseñor Victor Manuel Sanabria de Puntarenas."

In Nicaragua, three hospital projects are expected to require an investment of around $206 million. In Honduras, three buildings will be built to provide medical care, for which $35 million will be invested.

CentralAmericaData provides information on projects planned in all Central American countries, with details such as estimated investment, project times and phases, materials and equipment that will be required during and after construction, water treatment, and parking structure, among other things.

Hospital Construction for $18 million

May 2016

An environmental impact study has been presented to build a hospital consisting of five buildings in the municipality of Santa Catarina Pinula, department of Guatemala.

The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) submitted to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Guatemala in March 2016 by Olga Marina Cabrera Ruiz de Contreras, indicates that the development will be called "Vitta Center" and will be located at Kilometer 7.5 at the end of Boulevard Los Proceres, in the municipality of Santa Catarina Pinula, department of Guatemala.

Costa Rica: Medical Building for $19 million

May 2016

Plans have been drawn up to build a diagnostic center and medical office on three levels in Santa Ana, Province of San Jose, which will have a total constructed area of ​​19,922 square meters.

The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) submitted by Asociación de Servicios Médicos Costarricenses (ASEMECO) to the National Environmental Technical Secretariat in February 2016 indicates that the development will be called "Centro de Diagnóstico y Consultorios Médicos Clínica Bíblica Santa Ana" and will be located in the district of Pozos, canton of Santa Ana, province of San José.
