Central America: $265 Million for Residential Projects

Apartment buildings, condominiums and complementary works in Panama, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Honduras are some of the construction projects planned for the coming months in the region.

The interactive platform "Construction in Central America", compiled by the Business Intelligence Unit at CentralAmericaData, includes an up to date list of public and private construction projects for which environmental impact studies (EIA) were submitted to the respective institutions of each country in June 2017.

Details of some of the projects: 

In Panama, Edge International Investments Inc. submitted an  EIA to build, in the district of San José, Province of Panama West, 4 buildings with 7 levels each and 9 apartments per floor, and 6 buildings with 7 levels, each containing 8 apartments. The project is called "Construcción del Residencial River Drive Etapa II" and according to the study approximately $55 million will be invested in it.

In Guatemala 3 Petapa, S.A. submitted an EIA to build, in Guatemala City's Zone 12, two buildings with 15 levels each, which in total will house 520 apartments, 2 buildings with 10 levels each that will be used for offices and commercial spaces, as well as a square with 2 levels that will house commercial premises. The development is called "Proyecto Petápolis" and will have 3 basements for parking that will interconnect the 5 buildings that make up the project and according to the document the total amount of investment is $36 million.

In Costa Rica Sas Aeroespacial S.A. presented an EIA to build in Escazú, San José province, a residential condominium containing 124 2 storey residences with an estimated building area of 170 m2The project is called "Condominio Residencial Guachipelin" and according to the study the investment amount is approximately $12 million.

Costa Rica: $56 million in Residential Projects

July 2016

Vertical and horizontal residential condominiums in the provinces of San José, Heredia and Cartago are some of the projects for which environmental impact studies were submitted in May 2016.

The report "Construction projects in Costa Rica in May 2016"  prepared by the Business Intelligence unit at CentralAmericaData.com, provides an updated list of major construction projects for which environmental impact assessment (EIA) studies were submitted to the National Environmental Technical Secretariat (SETENA) in May.
