Cargo Movement Still RisingJanuary 2020 Between January and November 2019, the national port system continued to record positive numbers, as 85 thousand metric tons of cargo were mobilized, a figure 11% higher than that reported for the same period in 2018. Cargo Movement Grows to 10%October 2019 After the cargo movement in Panama grew 2% in 2018 compared to 2017, in the first eight months of 2019 the volume transported totaled 60.1 million metric tons, 10% more than in the same period last year. Cargo Movement Grows Less in 2018February 2019 After recording a 10% increase between 2016 and 2017, last year the movement of maritime cargo in Panama grew just 2% over the previous year. Maritime Cargo Movement Keeps FallingNovember 2018 During the first nine months of the year, cargo movement in Panama totaled 61.8 million metric tons, 5% less than the figure reported for the same period in 2017.
