In Costa Rica companies are being called on to participate in the tender for the renovation and cleaning of roads that were affected by tropical storm Nate.

The National Emergency Commission needs more construction companies to register and participate in the contracting processes to carry out the recovery works on roads and highways affected by the storm.
Julisa Ulate, executive director of the CNE, told Nacion.com that "...There are a great quantity of works that we have to execute; however, we need more construction companies to compete because of high demand."
"...The works are concentrated mainly in the cleaning of roads, the construction of protective works on the banks of the rivers, the stacking of material; renovation of roads and the implementing fills on approaches to bridges or fords; clearing up landslides and slips that cut off villages, as well as stabilization of slopes."
Suppliers who have heavy machinery and who are registered with the SICOP, can go to the webpagewww.sicop.go.crto participate in the award of these works.

With a loan from the IDB, plans are underway to carry out road renovation works on the cantonal road network, especially in the areas affected by storm Nate in 2017.
For the 61 projects in the first stage ofPRVC II, the MOPT estimatesholding approximately 12 tenders, each of which will include between four and five projects. As part of a second stage, around 64 projects will be worked on, which correspond to about 41 million dollars and are currently in the analysis phase.
Three consortia of construction companies presented their proposals in the tender to renovate 28 kilometers of a stretch of road in the province of Chiriquí, Panama.
The participating companies were: Consorcio Monte Lirio (Pentech, S.A. and Río Piedra Candela, S.A.); Consorcio San Andrés (Centralmix, S.A.
The Ministry of Public Works in Panama is inviting bids for the renovation of 61 kilometers of roads in the province of Cocle.

"The project involves paving or creating a road surface on highways or roads in order to renovate Highway Las Tablas-Pedasí, approximately 41.7 km long.
