Costa Rica, Top Buyer in Central America
From January to June 2019, the main importer of corrugated paper or cardboard boxes in Central America was Costa Rica, with $47 million, followed by Panama, with $13 million, Honduras, with $12 million, Guatemala, with $6 million, El Salvador, with $3 million, and Nicaragua, with $1 million.

8% Decrease in Imports
Between the months of January to June 2018 and the same period in 2019, purchases of paper or cardboard boxes registered a drop of 8%, from $72 million to $66 million.

Main Sellers
In the first six months of 2019, 8% of the value imported from Central America came from the United States, 1% from the Dominican Republic and 1% from Mexico.

In the first nine months of 2018, companies in the region spent $100 million to purchase paper boxes or corrugated cardboard, 9% more than in the same period in 2017.
