Food Chain 'Skillets' expands in CA

Opening a restaurant in El Salvador will be the first step in the Guatemalan company's plans to expand in Central America.

The company, which began operating in 2008, already has three restaurants in Guatemala City.

The first opening in El Salvador is scheduled for the second half of 2011.

Skillets director, Diego Vadillo, told Sigloxxi.com, "Personal income has gone up and we grow between 8% and 10% every month. So we have plans to expand into other countries."

Plans include franchising the brand in Latin America.

The Mexican food franchise inaugurated its first restaurant in the country, out of the 20 it plans for the next 8 years.

Taco Maker's new restaurant is located in Albrook Mall, in the Ancón district. It joins international franchise The Taco Maker Inc. (TTM), alonside 185 restaurants in United States, Latin America and the Far East.
