Businessmen Call for a Fast Economic Recovery

For the business sector, it is urgent for the Costa Rican government to start setting deadlines in the economic reactivation agenda, and in the changes that will be made to overcome competitiveness deficiencies.

According to the II Quarterly Business Survey, there are multiple deficiencies in the topic of competitiveness. For example, businessmen were asked if they considered that there were advances in simplifying procedures and 72% of those consulted said no, while only 24% considered that positive changes are perceived.

From the statement of the Costa Rican Union of Chambers and Associations of the Business Sector (UCCAEP):

May 7, 2019. For the business sector it is urgent that the government of President Carlos Alvarado begins to set deadlines on the agenda of economic recovery, because today more than ever it is necessary to start generating employment in the country and improve the living conditions of the inhabitants.

This is the main call made by the productive sector, after the results of the II Quarterly Business Survey "Pulso Empresarial", 2019, a study that was applied between April 1 and 12 to 386 companies from all productive sectors.

According to the businessmen, in the topic of competitiveness there are multiple deficiencies, for example, they were consulted if they considered that there were advances in the simplification of procedures and 72% of those consulted said no, while only 24% considered that positive changes are perceived.
