The Foreign Trade Promoter of Costa Rica (PROCOMER), prepared the study "Mapping Morocco: the commercial gateway to Africa", which identified 183 products with theoretical potential to be exported to this destination.
Marta Esquivel, director of Trade Intelligence at PROCOMER, explained that "... Morocco's economic and political stability, coupled with the desire for productive diversification experienced by its market, make it increasingly similar to European and Middle Eastern countries, with which we already have more experience in foreign trade. This is the ideal moment to expand our offer and value Morocco as the true gateway to African markets pending to be addressed.”
The main products with potential include sauces and preparations, bakery products and mixes, fruit juices and concentrates, chocolate and food preparations with cocoa and palm oil from the food sector.
Iron or steel rolled products, iron or non-alloy steel wire, iron or steel pipes and fittings, aluminum bars and profiles, and aluminum, iron or steel manufactures, from the metal-mechanic sector.
Soaps and cleaning preparations, medicines, insecticides and fungicides, hair preparations and paints and varnishes from the chemical sector, and ornamental plants, ginger, dried coconuts, pineapple and uncooked frozen fruit from the agricultural sector.
Concern for health and a balanced diet, which goes hand in hand with the demand for food that is easy and quick to prepare, is one of the opportunities that can be taken advantage of by Central American exporters.
In the food market, the cultural variety stands out, due to the convergence of diverse culinary traditions generated by the relevance of tourism.
Fruit juices and concentrates, canned tropical fruit, water, electric cables, laminated iron or steel products, antisera and drugs are among the products with the potential to enter the Israeli market.
A study by the Costa Rica Foreign Trade Promotion Office has identified 63 products that have export potential indicative to the Israeli market.
Procomer identified 726 Costa Rican export products as having some level of potential to be marketed in Russia.
From a press release issued by the Costa Rican Foreign Trade Promotion Office (PROCOMER):
After statistical analysis prepared by the Costa Rican Foreign Trade Promotion Office (PROCOMER) it has been revealed that there are 726 goods among Costa Rican exports with some level of potential to be marketed in Russia, a transcontinental nation which forms part of the emerging nations and whose population is 143.1 million.
The Chilean market, current recipient of some Costa Rican products, could be better utilized by exporters.
Chile is already one of Costa Rica’s trading partners, selling the country juices, fruit concentrates, food preparations and cassava (yuka).
This list of products could be expanded if exporters take advantage of the opportunity and increase the diversification of exportable products, which according to a study by the Costa Rica Promoter of International Trade of (Procomer), is a possibility.
