Business Negotiations Costa Rica - Panama

Costa Rican businesses from all sectors will be involved in a business negotiation event with Panamanian companies on Thursday in San Jose.

According to Katherine Chavez, director of foreign trade of the Costa Rican Chamber of Importers (Crecex), the organizing body, 170 domestic firms will have about 30 minutes to present their products and services and finalize new business. "They will be on average about 19 business meetings per company. The activity seeks to encourage bilateral trade," she added.

On the part of Panama, eight firms are looking for new trading partners in the country, in the sectors of services, software, construction, natural products, food and others.

"Banco BCT, Banco Lafise, Fideos Precocidos de Costa Rica, Molinos de Guadalupe, Gessa and Plycem, are some of the national companies that are participating in the activity," noted an article in

"For this meeting we plan, in addition to business appointments, a second day of visits by supermarkets and Panamanian businessmen to the same companies that are in the negotiation process," said Chavez.

For August 13, Crecex plans a meeting with Peruvian businessmen. Those who want to be part of the activity can do so by calling the Chamber on 2253-0126.
