Business Mission to Silicon Valley

Guatemalan companies are invited to participate in the third commercial and academic mission scheduled to take place in San Francisco, United States, from June 3 to 5.

The Guatemalan-American Chamber of Commerce is the institution organizing the mission, which aims to acquire new knowledge and establish contacts with companies such as Google, Uber, Cisco and Microsoft, among others.

Waleska Sterkel de Ortiz, executive director of the guild, said that "... There is a great demand from businessmen to learn about technology, big data, block chain and digitization, and how they can implement it in their companies, to be more creative and productive."

Sterkel added that "... one of the results of the two visits they made last year was the creation of the Technology Committee, which has already drafted a law initiative to regulate e-commerce."
