Friday, June 8, 2012

The burger chain has 31 locations in Costa Rica, but plans to open five new stores in 2012 which will also have a revamped exterior image, said Mario Jimenez, director of operations and logistics of Be Ca Costa Rica, the owner of the Burger King franchise in the country.

"We want to be the largest chain in the country in terms of number of stores, sales and customer satisfaction. We've done it before, so it's not impossible", said the executive to Elfinancierocr.com.

This year the firm opened new restaurants in Santo Domingo de Heredia, Paseo Metrópoli Cartago, Nicoya, Avenida Central and another on in Plaza Expresso, Tibás, adjacent to EPA. "The branches in Tibás and Heredia measure approximately 1,500 square feet, because they will have parking and an Auto King", said Jimenez, who did not give investment figures.

By the end of the year, the premises of Plaza de la Cultura and Guápiles will be remodeled. In 2013, six more openings are planned in places like Escazú, Lindora, Heredia and the Atlantic. "The idea is to open restaurants that are large and independent", said the executive.
