British Trade Mission to Guatemala

Businessmen from the infrastructure, transport and energy sectors will visit Guatemala on February 28 and March 1 and will meet with government authorities and private sector representatives.

The United Kingdom Embassy in Guatemala informed that representatives of AKT II (civil engineering and design), Biwater (solutions and water treatment), Buro Happold (engineering and design), ERM (business sustainability) will arrive to the country. In addition to Foster and Partners (architecture), Gillespies (urban design), JCB (construction machinery), Solarcentury (solar energy), Steer (transport solutions) and Tyréns (community development).

Carolyn Davidson, ambassador to Guatemala for the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, explained to that "... the mission aims to strengthen the development of sustainable cities, environmentally friendly projects and an understanding of the most pressing needs of today's citizens. It also seeks to create business and professional opportunities for Guatemalan small and medium enterprises, which could collaborate in any investment opportunity."

Davidson added that "... This visit is an opportunity to showcase some of the UK's leading infrastructure and construction companies and provide them with a platform to develop key business with Guatemala. The UK is a world leader in these sectors, and delegations will focus on boosting international trade and investment in emerging fields to ensure a prosperous future for the UK and its partners in the global economy'."

Salvadorean businessmen will visit Florida August 24-26 as members of a trade mission.

The trade mission is supported by the Trade Section of the American Embassy. Participants will visit Miami International Airport, the Port of Miami, the Everglades Port, and a free trade zone in the area.
