British Standards for Food and Beverages

On February 18 in Guatemala City a seminar will be heldon the BRC Global Standard for food industry.

From a statement issued by the Guatemalan Exporters Association (-AGEXPORT-):

The aim is to help companies and producers in the food industry achieve the highest levels of safety and quality according to the British Retail Consortium Global Standard (BRC).

The Commission on Food and Beverages at AGEXPORT supported by the British Embassy held on 18 and 19 February 2015, a seminar on the BRC Global Standard for the Food industry Version 7.

This seminar is aimed at producers in the food industry, professionals, consultants, technicians from public and private agencies, managers and others.

This activity will be headed by Luis Saucedo, Regional Director for Latin America of British Retail Consortium.

International Fair for Food and Beverages Announced

January 2015

In Guatemala producers and distributors of food and drinks are invited to be part of the group of companies participating in Expo ANTAD 2015, an event to be held in Mexico.

From a statement issued by the Guatemalan Exporters Association (AGEXPORT):

The Department of Trade Promotion at AGEXPORT is inviting companies in the food and beverage sector to participate, on 18 to 20 March, in the leading event in Latin America for the retail sector, ANTAD Expo 2015 in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Seminar on Plastics in Guatemala

On December 9th a seminar will be held in Guatemala City on prices and trends in the trading of polyethylene and resins.

Requirements to Export Food to Europe

On November 4th, the Guatemalan Exporters Association will be providing information on regulatory technical requirements to be met in order to export food to the EU.

Guatemala to Participate in FOODEX 2014

Guatemalan businessmen are being encouraged to participate in the 39th edition of FOODEX 2014, in Japan.

The Ministry of Economy (MINECO), the School of Foreign Trade and the Department of Trade Promotion and Information AGEXPORT, with the support of the Japanese Embassy in Guatemala, the trade promotion office in Japan JETRO and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency JICA are to hold a Conference entitled: Opportunities and marketing strategies for exporting to Japan, with the aim of promoting trade between Japan and Guatemala.
