British Airways Analyzes Flight to Panama

The airline analyzes the possibility to establish a Panama – London flight starting March 2011.

Flights to Puerto Rico will start in March and plans are to make a stop in Panama.

British Airways (BA) "is interested in using the Tocumen hub for passengers to make connections to other destinations in Latin America," says the article in Prensa.com.

This year only four new airlines have established flights to Panama (Tame, Venezolana de Aviacion, Curacao Dutch Antilles Express and Condor).

New Flights from Panama to Guyana, Fort Lauderdale and Montreal

Starting June Copa Airlines will offer direct flights from Panama City to Georgetown in Guyana, Fort Lauderdale in the U.S. and Montreal, Canada.

Copa Airlines, a subsidiary of Copa Holdings, SA (NYSE: CPA) has announced its growth plans for the first half of 2014, including the start of three (3) new direct flights from Panama to Montreal, Canada, Fort Lauderdale USA and Georgetown, Guyana, expanding its aircraft fleet and 10% growth in available seats.

Copa Announces New Tampa-Panama Flight

July 2013

Starting next December the airline will start flights between Tampa International Airport, Florida, and Tocumen in Panama.

The new route will link passengers from Tampa with Central American countries and those in South America, through Copa's hub in Panama.

No details have been released about the flight, to verify if Copa Airlines will use a Boeing 737 aircraft.

Cayman Airways Restarts Flights from the Islands to Panama

June 2013

The airline Cayman Airways Limited has a permanent operating permit for flights between Panama and the Cayman Islands, but only during the summer season.

According to Ivan Vergara, director of Air Transport at the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the company will fly to Panama between June and September.

Condor Confirms More Flights to Panama

April 2012

From October the German airline will operate two weekly flights from Frankfurt, in an attempt to transport more German tourists.

The German airline Condor has responded positively to requests from the Panamanian authorities and confirmed last week that will increase its weekly flights from one to two on its route between Frankfurt and the airport of Tocumen (with one 30 minutes stopover in the Dominican Republic).
