Beverages: Costa Rican Consumer Interests

In Costa Rica, 5% of the population shows interest in energy drinks, and about 57% of them are between 21 and 30 years old, and have one of the highest purchasing power levels.

An analysis of consumer interests and preferences in Costa Rica, prepared by the Trade Intelligence Unit of CentralAmericaData, provides interesting results on the characteristics and people who show interest in any type of beverage.

The population with the highest average income in the country shows interest in energy drinks and tea. When each segment is analyzed, it is found that 22% of consumers show interest in tea, and of this group of people, six out of ten are between 21 and 45 years old.

In Costa Rica, one in ten people show interest in juices, and about 47% of them are between 31 and 60 years old, and have a low level of purchasing power.

When analyzing the population as a whole, it can be seen that 38% show interest in coffee, and 36% of that segment is between 21 and 30 years old. This segment of consumers reports one of the lowest levels of consumption.
