The special 100 pounds of coffee produced by Maria Amparo Castellano was sold in the Cup of Excellence 2009’s electronic auction in Nicaragua for $3,105 per 100 pounds. In that way, the Nicaraguan coffee was positioned with the highest price among the countries that have already had their Cup of Excellence auctions, which were El Salvador, Colombia, Honduras, and Costa Rica.
