Beer: $21 million on Plant Expansion

The increase in production capacity will allow Cervecería Panamá to expand its presence in the market, especially with its brand Atlas.

From a statement by Cerveceria Nacional, SA:

Cervecería Nacional, focussing on maintaining the quality of its products and continuing to contribute to the economic development of the country, has made a total investment of $90 million in the last three years and $21 million in the expansion of its plant, located in Tumba Muerto.

"This expansion represents an important milestone for the company as it will increase production, especially at this time when one of our major brands, Atlas, is evolving and hoping to expand its market," said Fernando Zavala, CEO of Cervecería Nacional, S.A.

He added that the CNSA generates 1,779 direct jobs and 47,047 indirect jobs, and pays $70 million a year in taxes.

New Beer Production Plant

August 2018

After investing $26 million in the expansion of its beer plant in San Pedro Sula, Cervecería Hondureña plans to increase its production from 1.6 million to 2.6 million hectoliters.

The brewing company, a member of conglomerate AB Inbev, inaugurated its modern production plant this week, with the capacity to pack 50,000 bottles per hour, and which will have a storage space of 14,000 m2.

Cervecería Hondureña has announced that it will be investing $25 million in the expansion of its beer production plant in San Pedro Sula.

The company, a member of the business conglomerate AB Inbev, explained that the expansion works will be completed within 10 months, once the process to obtain the necessary permits has been completed. 

Panama Starts Production of Miller Lite Beer

October 2010

The National Brewery announced a $ 5 million investment to start production of Miller Lite beer.

Through the National Brewery (CN), Panama has become the first authorized country to produce Miller Lite beer outside of the United States market.

Fernando Zavala, president of CN, told "What we are seeing is the effort of almost a year´s work” showing pride in the company's 1,700 workers achieving a new victory in their production chain.

Multimillion dollar investments improving production plants and advertisements are showing excellent results.

Between 2006 and 2010, beer production increased by 53 million liters annually. In the first 7 months of 2010, 131.5 million liters of beer were produced which means on average each Panamanian adult drinks 9.5 liters of beer per month.
