Award of Works at North Terminal of Tocumen

The company Conceptos y Espacios was the only party interested in bidding for the extension of the north terminal at Tocumen offering $2.8 million.

The authorities at Tocumen SA have said that in less than a year the total debt acquired will be paid off, thanks to new grants to be awarded in the North Terminal which will have a final cost of $71 million.

In this terminal "... there are spaces that are not being used, therefore about 600 square meters will be added to create new commercial areas," reported Prensa.com.

"The north terminal is a structure which is 800 meters long and has 12 boarding gates."

Tocumen Airport Continues to Grow

Once the North Terminal starts operations, the new Central and South Terminals will be built, containing hotels and hospitals for about $350 million.

The construction of new Central and South terminals aims to provide more space for passenger boarding.

"The new $350 million project involves commercial, hospital and tourism infrastructure, expected to be completed by 2014", reported Panamaamerica.com.

Tender for South Terminal at Tocumen

North Terminal at Tocumen Airport Inaugurated

With an investment of $100 million the works of the Panama Airport North Terminal have been inaugurated.

A press release from the Tourism Authority of Panama reads:

The north terminal at Tocumen International Airport has been formally opened, a project which was developed with an investment of $100 million, as part of the expansion and remodeling of the main air terminal in Panama.

Tocumen Expansion Ready in September

The new terminal will be ready in September and will increase airport capacity by 50%.

It will have 12 new boarding gates and will be designed to receive any type of aircraft.

"Once the expansion is operating, the Tocumen administration will begin the process of constructing the southern terminal, which would add about 20 additional gates," states the article in Prensa.com.
