Asia Wants More Bamboo

Demand for bamboo in Asian countries and is growing and the Taiwanese Embassy in Guatemala is organizing a seminar in order to promote its cultivation.

Bamboo is confirmed as a business opportunity.

The seminar "The bamboo industry in Latin America" is being organized by the Embassy of Taiwan, with the premise explained by Adolfo Sun, the country’s Ambassador, who said "The Asian need bamboo, and Guatemala has a great climate for growing it".

Due to phenomena such as deforestation and the consequent awareness of environmental protection, it has been concluded that the bamboo is one of the most important natural resources of the XXI century. According to various reports, the exploitation of bamboo forests can help conserve water and soil, maintaining and protecting groundwater river channels.

In addition, these farms require minimal care and report large profits.
