Appliances: Chain Invests in New Stores

For the rest of 2019 and next year, the chain of furniture and appliance stores La Curacao plans to open 40 new sales points in the region.

Managers of the company in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Dominican Republic, reported that currently have 319 stores, and with the projected investment would reach a total of 359 sales points.

Brenda de Hernandez, manager of the chain in El Salvador, explained to Laprensagrafica.com that "... The expansion of operations responds to the expected growth for 2019 and 2020, which will be double-digit. Not only have we renewed the brand, we have also improved and expanded the experience."

In Costa Rica, the Gollo chain of stores invested $2 million in the opening of three new sales points in Guachipelín, Tibás and San José.

Costa Rica: Appliance Chain Expansion

The Unicomer group plans to invest $5 million this year in the opening of six new stores for its brands Gollo and Curacao and five new Opticians.

Unicomer Group's plan for this year also includes a new remittance service in tills in the Gollo and Curacao stores. Through an alliance with Western Union it will provide the money transfer service in 40 stores initially, and later this will be expanded to other outlets in the country and in Central America.
