Another Fast Food Chain Comes to Costa Rica

The restaurant chain Chili's will open its first store in the new food court at Multiplaza Escazú next week.

With an investment of $2 million, the first restaurant measuring 500 square meters, will seat about 230 people, said Andres Gomez, general manager of CRB restaurants, the owners of the franchise.

Company plans are to open five new outlets in the next three years and they could have seven restaurants within nine years.

"... the second opening has already been planned and will be in the Lincoln Plaza mall, in Moravia, between November and December this year. According to the manager, each site will generate about 100 new jobs", reported Elfinancierocr.com

Luis Gonzalez, operations manager for McDonald's in El Salvador said the investment plan for next year also includes opening a McCafe in every restaurant in the country.

Expansion of Chicken Chains in Costa Rica

More stores in different parts of the country, new brands and increasing competition are defining the chicken restaurant market.

This year alone there are plans to open at least two outlets under the Nicaraguan franchise Tip Top, which last year tried its hand in the center of the province of Alajuela.
