Gencom was founded in 1987 and is headquartered in Miami, USA. It owns hotel properties in the United States, Europe and the Caribbean.

MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gencom, a leading Miami-based international luxury hospitality and residential real estate investment and development firm, today announces the acquisition of Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo by a Gencom affiliate, Papagayo Partners Ltd., in conjunction with local real estate developer Sinergo Development Group S.A.
Following the August 2016 purchase of the 1,400-acre Peninsula Papagayo and Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica, this marks the second resort investment for the new ownership guided by Gencom on Peninsula Papagayo, a premier resort and residential destination in the Guanacaste province of northwest Costa Rica.
The acquisition of Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo also signals the ownership group’s steadfast, continued commitment toward a major transformation and preservation of Peninsula Papagayo. According to a statement released by BusinessWire, the acquisition includes the Four Seasons Papagayo, an 18 hole golf course and clubhouse, the Papagayo Marina and Prieta Beach Club.
An announcement has been made that the Asian hotel company Six Senses has bought the hotel Aqua Wellness Resort, located in Tola beach on the Pacific coast.
The international hotel and resort Six Senses, headquartered in Thailand, specializing in tourism has acquired the "wellness" hotel Aqua Wellness Resort.
The project consisting of 7 hotels with 855 rooms and condominiums to be built in the Papagayo Peninsula, Costa Rica, will be developed by the Costa Rican company Florida Ice and Farm.
According to a file submitted by the company Florida Ice and Farm (Fifco) to the Technical Environmental Secretariat, the project will require $467 million to be invested in five phases running up to 2022 and includes, in addition to hotels and residences, "... the building of four beach clubs, a community center, an equestrian center, a golf course, lakes and 165.3 acres to be preserved as a private reserve. "
Hotel operator Hyatt will manage Andaz Papagayo, a 150-room hotel scheduled to open in 2013.
The agreement was signed between Hyatt and project developer "Hotel Playa Sombrero S.A.".
It will be located in the Gulf of Papagayo, in the province of Guanacaste, and it is the sixth Andaz hotel in the world and the first one in Latin America.
