Imports by country
From January to September 2018, the main Central American buyer of aluminum and its manufactures from Mexico was Guatemala, with $9 million, followed by Costa Rica and Panama, with $8 million each, Honduras, with $6 million, El Salvador, with $4 million and Nicaragua, with $3 million.

In the first nine months, Central America ranked among the top ten destinations according to the value sold of Mexican aluminum exports and their manufactures.

Variation in regional imports
Between the first nine months of 2017 and the same period in 2018, imported value increased 3%, from $37 million to $38.2 million.

This rise reverts the downward trend in the flow of purchases for the months concerned in recent years, since in 2016 and 2017 were registered falls of 4% and 33%, respectively.
