In the first two months of 2018, the main Central American buyer of aluminum and its manufactures from Mexico was Guatemala, with $2.1 million, followed by Costa Rica, with $1.2 million, Honduras and Nicaragua, with one million dollars each. Salvador, with $0.8 million and Panama, with $0.7 million.

So far this year, Central America is the third largest destination according to the value sold of Mexican exports of aluminum and its manufactures, second only to the United States and Brazil.

Variation of regional imports
Between the first two months of 2017 and 2018, the import value registered a fall of 4%, going from $7 million to $6.7 million.

The reduction confirms the downward trend in the flow of purchases in recent years, since for the periods in question in 2016 and 2017 a reduction of 40% was registered, decreasing from $12 million to $7 million.
