Imports by Country
From January to September last year, the main Central American buyer of aluminum and its manufactures to Mexico was Guatemala, with $9 million, followed by Costa Rica, with $5 million, Honduras and El Salvador, with $3 million each, and Panama and Nicaragua, with $2 million each.

For the months in question, Central America ranked among the top ten destinations by value sold of Mexican aluminum exports and its manufactures.

Variation in Regional Imports
Between the first nine months of 2018 and the same period in 2019, the value imported registered a fall of 32%, from $37 million to $25 million.

This decline is a continuation of the downward trend in purchase flow for the months in question in recent years, as reductions of 30% and 7% were recorded in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
