Airspace Design Tender Postponed

For the second time the date for reception of offers has been postponed in the tender for the study, redesign, implementation and training to adapt and optimize Panamanian airspace.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Panama has postponed, until April 10, the date for delivery of proposals for the assessment of the current status of the capacity of Air Traffic Management and definition in a comprehensive manner of a process of infrastructure modernization and Air Traffic Management capacity to a state that reflects the best standards of safety, efficiency and best practices.

Prensa.com reports that "...Among the firms that participated in the approval meeting of the tender requirements are: Boeing, Lufthansa Consulting, a subsidiary of the German airline Lufthansa, Indra, Panama Hardware, Sofratesa, Iner Consulting, Tetratech, ANPC, Egis, Navblue, Thales, Steer Davies Gleave, Inmaquia and the International Air Transport Association (IATA)."

On November 20th, the Civil Aeronautical Authority received the public procurement proposals to design the country's air space, whose initial reference value was $8.000.000.

In Panama, a tender has been launched for the study, redesign, implementation and training of the adaptation and optimization of national airspace.

After a bidding process was declared void weeks ago, due to the fact that the five bids submitted did not comply with the strict compliance requirements in the tender documents, the Civil Aviation Authority has now republished the tender.

New Deadline for Airspace Design Tender

June 2018

After twice postponing the deadline for receipt of offers for the redesign and optimization of Panamanian airspace, now the new date to deliver the proposals is July 4.

After the hiring process was suspended for 45 days, on June 6 the resolution issued by the Directorate of Public Procurement was published, in which it was decided to "lift the suspension of the act convened by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)."

The Civil Aeronautics Authority of Panama is putting out to tender the study, redesign, implementation and training of the adaptation and optimization of the national airspace.

"The Civil Aviation Authority of Panama needs to exhaustively evaluate the current status of its Air Traffic Management capacity and define in a comprehensive manner a process that will modernize its infrastructure and Air Traffic Management capacity to a state that reflects the best safety standards, efficiency and best practices, according to current regulations and environmental responsibility.
