For the second time so far this year the Autonomous Executive Port Commission has launched a tender to expand the airport in Comalapa.

Government Purchase LP-El Salvador 33/2016:

"The purpose of the project is to construct a reinforced concrete building to house 4 new waiting rooms to provide an additional area of ​​1,960 square meters on one level (with projection to 3 levels and roof), for the attention of 525,600 additional passengers annually in accordance with the development Master Plan defined by El Salvador International Airport, Monsignor Oscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdamez.

Among the facilities included are, one (1) area for ​​arrival immigration check (4 double counters), two (2) elevators, two (2) escalators and two (2) concrete staircases, commercial area, support areas with two (2) sets of bathrooms, one (1) mechanical room and twenty-three (23) parking spaces for ground transportation, with structures adapted for immediate construction on the second and third level."

The deadline for receipt of bids is June 6, 2016.

Tender for Airport Waiting Rooms

The Autonomous Port Executive Committee of El Salvador has announced that in May it will be putting out to tender construction of four new lounges in San Salvador International Airport.

It is anticipated that the waiting rooms will have capacity for 400 passengers per day and will be financed with funds from a securitization that the Executive Port Commission (CEPA) held in February 2013.
