Air Connectivity: Avianca Resumes Flight Routes

As of March 28th, the Colombian airline will begin to reactivate flight routes connecting Central American countries with North American and South American nations.

At the beginning of March, the airline informed that it planned to temporarily suspend some international routes, which would be resumed according to the evolution of the pandemic, in some cases during the first quarter of the year, in other cases during the second semester.

In a new statement released on March 24, Avianca detailed its plan to reactivate suspended flights.

An article in Elmundo.sv reports that in the case of El Salvador "... as of March 28, flights to Houston, United States, and Toronto, Canada will be reactivated. On April 7, it will be reactivated with Mexico City."

The publication adds that "... on March 28, the Bogota-Guatemala City routes will also be reactivated, while from April 2, Guatemala City will resume operations with Los Angeles and San José Costa Rica."

The new frequency will leave El Salvador at 6:55 p.m. and arrive in Los Angeles at 10:35 p.m. The flight from the U.S. city will leave at 00:30 hours and will arrive in the Central American country at 7:19 hours.

Avianca Restructuring its Operation in Costa Rica

The airline reported that it will reduce its payroll in the country, as part of the process of organizational restructuring and routes that began this year.
