Imports by Country
During the first half of the year, the main buyer of air conditioning equipment in Central America was Panama, with $30 million, followed by Costa Rica, with $20 million, Honduras, with $19 million, Guatemala, with $11 million, El Salvador, with $7 million and Nicaragua, with $5 million.

Variation in Regional Imports
Between January and June 2018 and the same period in 2019, the imported value decreased 1%, from $92.2 million to $91.6 million.

For the periods concerned, purchases from Mexico went from $2.6 million to $3.2 million.

Origin of Imports
During the first half of 2019, 39% of the value imported from Central America came from China, 30% from the U.S., 3% from Mexico and 2% from South Korea.

China is the country of origin of Central American imports that has grown most for the period in analysis of the last eight years, since in 2012 represented 21% of the total value purchased and in 2018 rose to 39%.

This analysis was carried out considering air conditioning machines and devices suitable for modifying adjustable temperatures and humidity to walls, windows, floors or ceilings, vehicles, and the respective parts of the equipment.
