A Single Bid of $27 million for Road Works

In Panama the consortium made up of Constructora Urbana and Constructora de Infraestructura submitted a proposal in the tender to readjust the north and south corridors to three lanes.

The project consists of altering the North and South Corridors to operate three lanes in each direction (6 lanes in total) continuously during their normal operations and during critical morning and afternoon schedules; So that one of the lanes works exclusively in counterflow for use by the transport system, ie, Bus Only. From a statement issued by the Ministry of Public Works:

On Monday, May 15, the Ministry of Public Works carried out the Abbreviated Best Value Tender for the "Modification, Adaptation, and Signaling for the Reclassification to Three-Lanes and Reversal of Lanes on the North and South Corridors", in the Province of Panama.

Before opening the envelopes submitted by the proponents, the envelope containing the price estimated by the Ministry of Public Works for this project was opened, and the reference price revealed to be B / .25,620,044.43.

$543 million Contract Awarded for Road Works Project

In the tender to expand a 36-kilometer stretch of road in Panama to six lanes, the consortium formed by FCC Construcción and Operadora CICSA submitted an offer for $543 million, while MECO and Constructora Urbana, offered $624 million.

China Communications Construction Company, LTD also participated in the tender "Extension to six lanes - Corredor de las Playas - Section 1: La Chorrera - Santa Cruz", but its proposal was disqualified for not meeting the minimum required score. 

Road Works Awarded for $89 million

The consortium formed by Italy's Astaldi and MCM Global has been awarded a contract to renovate and expand the Omar Torrijos highway in Panama to four lanes.

The Ministry of Public Works selected the consortium made up of the companies Astaldi and MCM, after receiving three proposals in the tender for the "Design and Construction of the Renovation and Extension of the Carretera Omar Torrijos (Corozal - Red Tank - Vía Centenario).

Three Bids for $87 million Highway Works

Astaldi SpAstaldi S.p.A and MCM Global S.A. make up one of the three consortiums that submitted their offers to expand the Omar Torrijos highway in Panama to four lanes.

The three bidders are: Consorcio COT (CCA Civil Panamá, S.A. and Conalvías Construcciones, S.A.S.

The Ministry of Public Works is putting out to tender works on adapting to three lanes and reversing of lanes in the North and South corridors, in Panama City.

Panama Government Purchase 2017-0-09-0-08-AV-004921:

"The project involves adaptation, adjustments, signaling for reclassification to three-lanes and reversing of lanes on the North and South corridors, which are located in the city of Panama, however, the contracting entity, may determine tasks while carrying out work in the field which have not been defined in the terms of reference and plans, to ensure connectivity and integrity of road networks and / or accessibility to basic services, such as health centers, schools, roads, production, etc., as long as they relate to a route which is continuous, (or) neighboring, (or) perpendicular to any point on the route of the project, which must be formalized by legal instruments defined in the Request for Proposals."
