A Central American Rail Network?

A pre-feasibility study on a rail transport system for El Salvador has as its main concept the interconnection with other countries in the region.

Laprensagrafica.com reports that Jose Antonio Sebastian, director of strategic development and international business for the company Tramrail said that the study "will designate routes for connecting with the Central American countries ... There will be a master rail freight plan for the country and for Central America. "

Tramrail is a Spanish company which has undertaken the feasibility study for the modernization of the Salvadoran railway system, both for passengers to alleviate the problems experienced in this regard in the capital, and in regards to cargo transport.

A representative from the Spanish company said potential investors interested in participating in the reactivation of the train will be shown the ports that would connect to the system as well as the interconnected countries, logistics zones and multimodal interconnected areas.
