$9 Million in Construction Materials

The Dominican Republic government tenders different construction materials for the Rapid Action brigades that will repair houses.

Dominican Republic Government Purchase INVI-CCC-LPN-2021-0008:

"The National Housing Institute requires the purchase of different construction materials for housing repairs.

The tender is divided into 16 lots for masonry, painting and electrical materials in different regions:

Some of the materials required are described below:

* 4" and 6" block units.
* Portland type gray cement of 42.5 kilograms.
* Galvanized sweet wire # 18.
* Gallons of different paints.
* Washed sand for concrete.
* Crushed gravel for concrete.
* Hydrated lime of 25 pounds.
* 2" X 3" X 12" rough treated American pine for sleepers.
* Zinc plates 3' X 6' X 29 gauge.
* Complete toilets.
* Single shower.
* Hand wash basin with white pedestal 12" X 18".
* Tanguit cement.
* Black, red and white THW #12 wire.
* Everdoor poly metal doors with latches.
* Aluminum lattice type windows.

Bids must be submitted for each lot to participate.

Dominican Republic Suspends Wire Imports from C.A.

The Government ordered a temporary suspension of wire and cable imports from Central America.

Dominican Republic's Treasury Secretary announced they will gather the administrative council for the Central American FTA, to define what is considered as a 'special fiscal regime'. Dominican industrial businessmen have complained about wire imports from Costa Rica that don't comply with the FTA rules of origin.
