$8 million Tender for Airspace Design

In Panama, a tender has been launched for the study, redesign, implementation and training of the adaptation and optimization of national airspace.

After a bidding process was declared void weeks ago, due to the fact that the five bids submitted did not comply with the strict compliance requirements in the tender documents, the Civil Aviation Authority has now republished the tender.

The institution needs to exhaustively assess the current status of its Air Traffic Management capacity and define in a comprehensive manner a process that will modernize its infrastructure and capacity of Air Traffic Management to a state that reflects the best standards of safety, efficiency and best practices, according to current regulations and environmental responsibility.  

The process should make it possible to face the expected growth for the next 10 years.  8% increase in yearly operations (takeoffs, landings, overflights).

Tender for Airspace Design Cancelled

August 2019

Because the budget of the Civil Aeronautical Authority was cut, Panama decided to cancel the tender for the study, redesign and optimization of airspace.

Representatives of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) reported that they took the decision after the Cabinet Council ordered spending cuts as part of the contingency plan.

Four Offers to Design Airspace

November 2018

Between $6.8 million and $7.5 million range from proposals for the study, redesign, implementation and training of the adequacy and optimization of Panamanian airspace.

On November 20th, the Civil Aeronautical Authority received the public procurement proposals to design the country's air space, whose initial reference value was $8.000.000.

Airspace Design Tender Postponed

For the second time the date for reception of offers has been postponed in the tender for the study, redesign, implementation and training to adapt and optimize Panamanian airspace.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Panama has postponed, until April 10, the date for delivery of proposals for the assessment of the current status of the capacity of Air Traffic Management and definition in a comprehensive manner of a process of infrastructure modernization and Air Traffic Management capacity to a state that reflects the best standards of safety, efficiency and best practices.

The Civil Aeronautics Authority of Panama is putting out to tender the study, redesign, implementation and training of the adaptation and optimization of the national airspace.
