$8 million Investment in Announced Pharmaceutical Company

Laboratorios Paill plans to invest in purchasing equipment and machinery and the expansion of its pharmaceutical production plant in El Salvador.

Tuesday, June 21, 2016

With the expansion of the plant's warehouse area, Laboratorios Paill plans to "... increase current capacity by 60%."  The increase in production capacity goes hand in hand with the aim of the company to increase its sales abroad, particularly in new markets such as the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica and some South American countries, for which already it has started the respective procedures.

Miguel Escobar, technical and quality assurance director at Paill informed Elsalvador.com that within the $8 million investment plan, "... $3 million will be allocated for the purchase of equipment and machinery, and between $4 and $5 million for infrastructure. The physical works, for which there are already plans, could start in the coming months as they first need to be approved by the National Directorate of Medicines (NMD as it is known in Spanish). "

"... For the US market, the projection is to enter the line of multivitamin nutritional supplements and natural products, a process that is in the phase of research and approaching distributors in that country. It is estimated that early next year the Paill brand will be available in the United States. In Costa Rica, the plan is to venture into tenders, for which they are in talks with a drug company, which could become concrete in the second half of this year. In relation to the plans to sell medicines to Mexico, they are still in the policy evaluation stage."
