From a statement issued by the Foreign Trade Promotion Office (Procomer):

San Jose, September 26, 2014. A total of $60 million in business deals is the result of the XVI edition of the Buyers Trade Mission - BTM, after more than 300 Costa Rican exporters held business meetings with over 200 buyers from 32 countries. This exceeds the amount reached in 2013, which was $58 million.

According to data from the Foreign Trade Promotion Office of Costa Rica (PROCOMER) agriculture is responsible for 53% of deals made, the food industry 31%, while specialized industries covered 16%.

"Once again we exceeded the business intentions of the previous year thanks to the preparation and talent of each of the exporters that participated and negotiated face to face with international buyers, highlighting the quality of their products. In PROCOMER we are very pleased with these results and will continue to work hard so that every deal materializes," said the Manager of Trade Promotion of the Promotion Office, Alvaro Piedra.
