$5 Million for Panamanian Health Ministry Offices

A 4 hectare site in Coclé province will be used to construct the ministry's regional headquarters.

The project includes accommodation for doctors, a conference center and an area for specialist medical attention.

The announcement was made by the Health Minister, Franklin Vergara, during a visit to the central southern region of Panama.

The new regional Health Ministry (Minsa) head office, "will be located next to the Panamerican highway by the Penonomé exit for Aguadulce," reports Prensa.com.

It will require an investment between $500 and $600 million, and will be located in the Curundú Market, explained Alberto Vallarino, Economy Minister.

$4 Million for Electoral Court Head Office

The funds have been included in the country's budget for 2010.

Eduardo Valdés Escoffery, Court Magistrate, indicated that the new facilities will be located in Panama City, even though he didn't report their exact location.

"The Court will also assign $7.3 million for other investment projects such as construction of regional offices in remote areas and decentralizing its operations...", reported newspaper Panamá América.

$12 Million for Parlatino Seat

September 2009

The Latin American Parliament, known as Parlatino, will build its new seat in Amador, Panama City.

The project will be designed by Panamanian Architect Ignacio Mallol.

Panamanian representative Francisco Alemán stated that "with the construction of the regional seat of Parlatino, Panama will become the political center of the hemisphere, to link the peoples of the region".
