Of the total, $2.5 million will go towards the medical equipment.

The funds, which have not yet been transferred, are in accordance with requests made by the medical center's personnel.

The hospital currently has 92% of its medicines and 85% of its surgery equipment, Guatemala's Vice-minister for Hospitals, Silvia Palma de Ruíz, commented.

Medical Devices: New Investment in Costa Rica

The company Medtronic inaugurated in Coyol Free Zone its new plant dedicated to the manufacture of precision medical devices, an investment with which it seeks to double its operations in the country.

Medtronic has a commercial presence in Costa Rica since 2015. Between 2017 to date, it has grown from 140 to more than 500 employees, and its plant manufactures components for medical devices used for spine surgeries, which are sold in several parts of the world, reported the Costa Rican Coalition of Development Initiatives (Cinde).

Costa Rica: $18 million for Medical Equipment

$18 million will be allocated to equip the seven-story tower, which will be built starting from April at the Calderon Guardia hospital, with 209 beds, 35 incubators and radiology, neonatology, gynecology, and an isolation unit.

The estimated cost of the project is $83 million, its construction will begin in mid-April and it will be completed within three years, according to the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS).

Announcement of $61 million Purchase of Medical Equipment

The Social Security Department is going to purchase anaesthesia machines, scanners and MRI machines between 2014 and 2018.

This was revealed in the data managed by Infrastructure Management and Technology of the Social Security Department (CCSS). The 120 anaesthesia machines will be purchased in 2014, while the scanners for hospitals Mexico, Calderon Guardia and San Juan de Dios will be acquired in 2017.

Honduras Tenders Supply of Medical Equipment

June 2012

The Health Ministry is inviting bids for the supply of medical equipment for Hospital María – a hospital specialising in paediatrics.

The submission of bids for the international tender is scheduled for July 11, 2012. Among the medical supplies to be tendered are, laboratory equipment for heel test screening, assessment equipment, ophthalmic plastic surgery supplies and related products, among other things.
