$3 million Tender for Chemicals

The Costa Rican Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers is putting out to tender a supply of 7,200 tons of granulated aluminum sulphate, for the purification of water for human consumption.

Costa Rican Government Purchase 2018LN-000011-PRI:

"Requirements are for 7,200 tons of aluminum sulphate to be used for the purification of water for human consumption, therefore it must not contain any material or substance capable of producing dangerous or harmful effects to public health. 

The product must not contain any kind of inert material, either as a result of manufacturing or packaging. Such inert materials, among others, include sands, vegetable fibers, synthetic or rubber-like materials or rubber tires."

Deadline for receipt of offers: June 13, 2018.

The bidding is for supplying of 3.98 million kilos of granular aluminum sulfate.

The purchase will be conducted by the Institute of Aqueducts and Sewage Systems and is for domestic use.

The date for submission of bids is December 29, 2010.

Aluminum sulfate is widely used in industry, usually as a flocculent in purification of drinking water and the paper industry.
