In the short term, business between Chinese and Panamanians could increase in other areas, such as the agroindustrial sector, as representatives from Chinese phytosanitary control entities are expected to visit in the coming days.

The Minister of Commerce and Industries explained to Prensa.com that "...The director general of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in China will visit Panamanian production plants and will see the products first hand, with the aim of approving the corresponding certifications in order to be able to send Panamanian products to China.

"The person in charge of business at the Chinese Embassy in Panama, Wang Weihua, said that this is just a first step and they expect Panamanian exports going to a market of 1.4 billion people to multiply."
