With sales exceeding $110,000 the Brahman the XVI World Congress 2012 concluded last week in Panama, having enjoyed the presence of local and international breeders.

"We auctioned 25 animals of the Brahman breed and the highest price paid for an animal was $7,000, said Peter Vallarino, president of the Congress", according to an article in Prensa.com

The Congress is held every two years, the next one will take place in South Africa.

The Superintendency of Tax Administration (SAT) announced for Tuesday, August 7, 2012, the Customs Public Auction of Goods 4-2012 "ALSERSA" and "SAT".

30 lots of various goods will be auctioned with a total base price of Q. 933, 688.96 ($1,200,000) which will take place on the above mentioned day and time in the Board Room located inside the offices of ALSERSA, at Km 5 on the Road to Atlantic, Lavarreda, Zone 17, City Capital.

Data from the National Animal Health Service (SENASA), indicates that almost 80% of all the cattle sold in Costa Rica is done so via livestock auctions, while the remaining 20% goes directly to packing plants.

In the final stage of the Cup of Excellence competition, the electronic auction, the second best price for coffee went to the Don Leoncio farm, in Manuel Antonio Barranes, at $1,200 per quintal.

New Cattle Auction in Panama

The company “Subasta Agroganadera Valle de la Luna” began operations in Chiriquí aiming to foment cattle production in the province.

The recently inaugurated installations of Subasta Agroganadera Valle de la Luna have the capacity to hold up to 500 animals. The company is formed by a group of 125 associates from the cattle industry.
