The fourth business round concluded with the participation of 90 Guatemalan and 14 Taiwanese companies.

Daniel Hsieh, trade attache at the Taiwanese embassy in Guatemala, said that the most requested products were cellphones and personal computers.

"Participating companies from Taiwan included information technology businesses, electronics, communications, furniture, electrical tools, food products, bicycle spare parts, among others", reported newspaper Prensalibre.com.

Panamanian Trade Mission to Peru

Taiwan Trade Mission in El Salvador

An Asian trade mission is to come to El Salvador, with an eye toward potential business in machinery, beauty products, jewelry, construction materials, plastics and textiles.

Some 16 Taiwanese companies will arrive in El Salvador next week, with the aim of making deals with local companies. The visit will take place from 11 to 13 March, according to the Office of the Economic Counselor for the Chinese/Taiwanese Embassy.

Taiwan Businesses to Visit Guatemala

The Asian country is primarily interested in Guatemalan products such as lumber and fish flour.

In August 2009, a group of Taiwanese businessmen will visit Guatemala looking to take advantage of the possibilities created by the Free Trade Agreement between the two countries which has been ratified since July of 2006.
