$17 million Hotel Announced in El Salvador

Urbánica announced the construction this year of a 130-room Marriott Fairfield hotel in downtown La Gran Vía, and plans to start operations in 2017.

The real estate developer announced the construction of the Urbánica Marriott Fairfield hotel, located in the shopping center La Gran Vía in San Salvador, for an investment of approximately $17 million. The property will focus on the business tourism segment as does the Marriott Courtyard, developed in the same area.

"This project is a component of mixed use and allows us to integrate 3,000 square meters of commercial space in harmony with 130 hotel rooms," said Alejandro Dueñas, Urbánica's CEO to Elsalvador.com, confirming that at the end of 2016 they will finalize the building and begin operations in 2017.

"... The project, which will feature restaurants, trendy shops and business- services has been made in conjunction with the partners of the firm Caribe Hospitality, with whom they also made the Marriott Courtyard project, located next to La Gran Vía".

Nacion.com reports that "The managers have said they also aim to attract tourists who want to get to know the eastern part of the greater metropolitan area, where there are volcanoes and mountains."

$12 Million Hotel for Corporate Tourism

The real estate firm Kirebe is to build a Wyndham Garden Hotel in San Jose, Costa Rica.

The new hotel will be located in Escazú, on land adjacent to Play and EPA, and will open its doors in August, according to the plans of the property firm Kirebe, which has previously specialized in residential condominiums.
