17 Thousand New Companies in Panama

17.696 companies have been created so far this year, with planned investments for about $1.23 billion.

The most active province is Panamá, followed by the provinces of Chiriquí and Colón.

"When compared with last year, there are more requests for new companies, but investment was down 49%", reports Luz Ettrick, in Prensa.com.

Guatemala: Company Registration Up 15%

From January to April of this year, the number of mercantile companies registered totaled 13,975, 15% more than the number reported in the same period in 2018.

Data from the Mercantile Registry (RM) specify that between the first four months of 2018 and the same period of 2019, 1,783 more companies were registered in the country, going from 12,192 to 13,975.

Creation of Businesses in Panama Increases by 21%

Streamlined by the "Panama Emprende" platform, requests for new companies increased 21.2% in the first quarter of 2013 compared to the same period in 2012.

Figures from the state run website "Panama Emprende", revealed that during the first quarter of 2012 the site recorded 7396 notices of start of operations, 404 less than the same period in 2011.

Most of the companies that were registered through the Panamá Emprende system are in the services and retail sectors.

During the last 12 months, 67.7% of the new companies were established in the capitol, 10.6% in Chiriqui, and 21.6% were from throughout the rest of the provinces.
